Born and raised in Stockton-On-Tees and with over 10 years of wedding photography experience, I fell in love with image making in my mid twenties and photography has been a huge part of life for over a decade.

I studied at Cleveland College of Art & Design and The University of Teesside before becoming a full time pro in the Summer of 2012.

Weddings have always been an amazing part of our business and I adore joining people on these occasions. At Michael Cartwright Weddings, we understand that every celebration is unique. That’s why we work closely with each of our clients to meet their individual needs. We believe that every couple deserves not just beautiful photographs, but also a photographer who is easy to work with and dedicated to making their day truly memorable.

From the initial consultation to the final delivery of your gallery, we strive to make the process as seamless and stress free as possible so you can focus on enjoying your day.

When I’m not shooting weddings, you can often find me travelling to stunning locations to photograph landscape images while running photography workshops.

In 2014 we set up our family portrait studio in Yarm and it’s still going strong, welcoming hundreds of families each year and managed by myself and my wife Emma.

With a studio to manage, workshops to run and a young family at home, I like to keep my weddings to a manageable number each season. This ensures a premium experience for my clients from an energetic photographer who isn’t feeling burnt out.

The variety in my work is the very essence of the passion that continues to burn bright in my soul. It has given me a wealth of experience in a huge range of dynamic situations.

Dividing my time between weddings, landscape, our studio and family time has given me a perfectly balanced approach to life, that allows for a confident, competent creator to do what they do best on your wedding day.
